Amsterdam: Along the Medieval Wall app for iPhone and iPad

It is the purpose of this app to get you acquainted with the Amsterdam from right before the year 1600. At that time, the medieval wall from 1482 is still standing but the citys expansion is unstoppable. You will follow the route of this wall closely, thereby developing an understanding of the size of Amsterdam in that period.

This App is designed as an audio tour with 22 stops. This allows you to listen to the audio excerpts at the associated stops. Each stop also features an album with relevant illustrations and maps as appropriate. Check out these pictures, preferably in advance.

The Google Map at the bottom menu (Map) shows route and stopping points. You also have the opportunity to see your own position enabling you to find your way to the desired stop. Clicking a stop on the map will also lead you to the audio text and the images.

At some places in the route it is better to pause the audio clip and first walk a bit further as indicated. For more complex paths street maps on the screen "Images" are included. For better orientation we advice you to consult these pictures and the Google Map beforehand.

The entire tour will take you approximately 2.5 hours to complete. Of course it is up to you to break up the tour into smaller units and / or to combine with other Amsterdam sights.

Pay attention: this is an offline app, so you will not have any roaming costs! All audio and images are built in the app. Therefore the app has a download size of about 20Mb. It is possible to download on 3G, WIFI is the recommended way.
